First Lunch Outdoors

A pre- Mother's Day lunch at daughter's house today so she can have her own Mother's Day special tomorrow.  Both the Grans were there (myself and SIL's mother) and it was actually our ritual "afternoon tea" - home baked scones, finger sandwiches and petit fours, with lots of a special tea to wash it all down. There was some wine as well! Tonight I'll just have a salad. Luckily I have some cold chicken, olives and feta cheese to eat up. Oh, forgot to mention, there was an abundance of chocolate too!

The weather was very obliging and we sat outside until late afternoon. It was the first really warm day we have had this year so perfect timing IMHO. Then we came indoors and went on Zoom to the family in Victoria B.C. so all bases covered.

I stopped by the Garden Centre on the way home, looking for Kale as I missed it last year. It wasn't in yet but they said they would put some aside for me once it arrives, if I call and remind them. The place was jammed so next time I will NOT go on a Saturday.

  1. How lovely to spend time with your daughter. Your afternoon tea sounds wonderful. I need to get to the garden centre to buy some winter vegetables.

  3. Sounds like a perfect Mother's Day tea party. I'll be making my first visit to the garden centre this week - already I hear my wallet rumbling (col).

    1. I could spend a fortune there - just have to remember the size of my small garden!
