Went for a check-up of my finger and had the splint adjusted to keep it straighter. Unfortunately I have to continue to wear it for another 4 weeks and then will graduate to a velcro splint. I am hoping I will be able to get back to tennis then as I am sorely missing it. Also, it is difficult to keep it clean and dry (my yellow rubber glove is my new best friend) so it is becoming a bit of a nuisance. My pool will be ready in the next week or two but I doubt I will be swimming much until July!
I wear it while chopping vegetables, handling meat and even when eating a "hands-on" meal like burritos or barbecued chicken wings!
You need to get a fancy rubber glove with a bit of bling. Could you tape the glove to your forearm and get in the pool with it? Seems a shame to waste your short summer.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure I will devise something. At least I can get in to cool off (with arm in air).
DeleteYou wear that rubber glove with panache. Hopefully you can get back to tennis and swimming very soon.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
Thanks, Jackie. It can't come soon enough.
DeleteThat really must be a fair old nuisance, one way and another. I hope it doesn't cause you too much discomfort. xx
ReplyDeleteShouldn't complain as it is such a small inconvenience.
DeleteIt must make hair-washing a tricky task too!
ReplyDeleteActually that hasn't been much of a problem as I have short hair and can basically do it with one hand.
DeleteI am sorry to hear Chris, that tennis is even delayed longer for you. Hopefully you'll get into the pool sooner than later, it would be a fun distraction from no tennis. :)
ReplyDeleteIt must be a nuisance wearing the rubber glove, if it does the job, it must be done. I hate wearing them also. Sorry, your swimming and tennis could be delayed.
ReplyDeleteWell, hopefully the extra splint time will foster an even better result in healing, so your tennis 2 handed backhand will be killer good! Just trying to make lemonade for you, as bright as that rubber glove. ;-)
