A Possible Replacement

My last remaining Wiegela bush (there were three) is in full bloom this week and I am considering it as a replacement for the Spruce. It's fairly tidy and will grow about 6 feet tall so would fill the space nicely, given a few years.

The two I lost had a deeper red blossom so maybe I will go with that this time.

  1. What a gorgeous bush. I have no luck with those as they seem to die on me in a few years.

    God bless.

    1. It just needs some of the dead wood cleaned out each year after it blooms.

  5. Really gorgeous and as it is a very nice size. Do the flowers come in different shades other than pink? It looks as if it grows really dense so I imagine it would cover the old tree space nicely. Beautiful! keep well Amanda x

  6. We have a dark red one but I don't think ours is evergreen. Perhaps I have mistaken it for something else!

    1. This is a deciduous shrub and loses most of the foliage in the fall but comes back each Spring.
