Hold Onto Your Hats!

Very strong winds here today - just praying my roof stays on as I have already had to have parts of it replaced this year. I can hear the wind buffeting stuff outside and it's set to continue overnight.

While I was out running errands today I had to be careful when getting out of the car as the wind would grab the door out of my hands, that's how strong it was. Tomorrow will be interesting to see what has been blown around the neighborhood. Fingers crossed there is no serious damage but there have been tornados down south in the States, part of the same weather system.

  1. Strong winds scare me. Especially after the tree came down. Tornados have been pretty awful by all accounts. Stay inside and stay safe.

  2. We have lost the felt from our kitchen extension roof with the last storm that went over in Scotland. Hope your roof remains intact. Stay safe.

    1. So far so good. I think the guy that repaired it last time got everything well and truly nailed down. Hope you can get yours repaired soon.

  5. Hope you came through the weather yesterday with no damage to your house. It was very windy here also, just a few small branches and twigs came off our trees. Beautiful sunshine today.

  6. Same here re: the tree branches. I swept up a bin fill of pine cones from the tree in my back yard.

  7. That was some wild wind storm. Thankfully our trees are all OK, just a few loose twig branches down. Some neighbours had very large trees come down & because those trees took out the hydro poles, the hydro company brought their chain saws & cut the trees up & piled in front of the houses. Considering what happened south of us, we got off lucky.

  10. I hope your roof fared okay. The tornadoes in the Midwest were all around us to the west and south, but luckily we missed the brunt of it. Praying for all those adversely affected; it is extra heart-breaking at this time of year.

    1. I just have to keep recovering my pool equipment as, at present, it is just covered with plastic sheeting. Next winter there will be a shed, I hope!
