Adhering to the Directive

A new edict for our city - masks must be worn in all indoor spaces (stores, malls, offices etc.). I am happy to comply as I feel safer when masked. Of course, there are those who make a bit of a fuss and claim their civil liberties are being enfringed upon, but they are a noisy minority. General concensus is that this is the way to go, thankfully!

Still extremely hot here but we will be out early tomorrow for a game of tennis. I nearly expired on Tuesday even though we started at 8:00 a.m. and I think tomorrow's high is to be 34C! It is worth it just to get out and socialize (at a distance) with friends.

The grandkids came over yesterday and had a grand time in the pool while Judy and I chatted in the shade. She did go in later. It must have been hot as she isn't a big fan of cold water and usually sits on the side lines. They will be back on Friday and we will have a BBQ lunch after their swim. Fun times!

  1. Our region has made mask wearing mandatory since June 12th & finally the bitching on the neighbourhood F/B page has calmed down. New info by 239 doctors released today, indicate the particles we all exhale during talk, singing, coughing & sneezing can linger in the indoor un-circulated air for hours! The WHO will update their stance on this next week. Masks make sense.

    1. It was too long coming, we should have had this edict some time ago!

  2. Mask wearing will be mandatory in indoor public spaces soon in our very large rural region. We currently only have 6 active cases. It bothers me that initially, when things were very bad, we were all told that masks won't help. I don't mind wearing a mask, but I am bothered by the big turnaround in thinking. -Jenn

    1. I think everyone is learning on the run. It will be interesting to see what hindsight tells us once this is all over.

  3. What about everyone else's 'liberty/right' to be kept as safe as possible in public spaces? Good for whoever made the decision.
It must be so wonderful to sit by the pool and have a cooling dip in such hot weather. It is cool and really wet here at the moment.
    Have a lovely day.

    1. After tennis this morning (exhausting) I haven`t been out much. It is too hot in the middle of the day even to sit by the pool in a wet swimsuit!

  4. I cannot understand this anti-mask movement when it seems so obvious that if everyone wore one the spread of the virus would be slowed. Civil liberties or not, I certainly wouldn't want to either spread it or catch it.

  5. Admittedly it is stifling to wear a mask in the heat, which is one of their arguments, but we are just being told to cover up in indoor spaces that are mostly air conditioned. Public transit is the worst as it is hot on the buses and very closely packed.
