Peeking Through the Snow

Yes, we had snow (not much) today so March is going out like a lion. Bad news for the first daffodil shoots daring to poke their heads out.

I'm sure they will survive with just a bit of frosted tips. There are also some tulips showing up. A while yet until we have some blooms, though.

  1. I do always feel sorry for daffodils! (And often crocuses). -Jenn

    1. Hope April's more lenient. I wouldn't even mind some showers.

  3. Daffodils, etc, are pretty hardy - I'm sure a bit of snow won't hurt. It's supposed to snow in the UK too in the next few days but, hopefully, nothing here. We never get snow.

  4. I hope this last kick of winter doesn't kill off any bloom buds of your spring flowers. -12 this morning but a promise of +16 by Thursday - crazy spring.

  5. Those first leaves poking up are always such a hopeful sign, aren't they. I am sure they are hardy enough for that bit of snow, so no reason not be optimistic.

  8. Now I need to check and see if our tulips are coming up. No snow here today, but boy it was cold and windy.

    God bless.

  9. Oh I am so sorry for your flowers!

Don't have any because years ago, 'Critters' ate every bulb planted so..... Gave up. :-)

Our snow is finally gone, but cold temps and wind remain. Hope they will ease soon. It's "getting old"!!!!

  10. I am sure it won't be long Chris before your flowers break through in all their glory. Daffodils particularly as they are pretty tough. March has been unbelievably wet here. keep well. Amanda x
