New To Me

Very excited - I picked up my new car today! It`s a 2018 Prius Prime - a hybrid with a plug in battery so should save me on gas. I had my last car (also a Prius) for 15 years so it had served me well. This one will probably be the last car I buy so I wanted it to be environmentally friendly. It runs on gas and electricity - a rather complicated system but I`m sure I will figure it out.

Not my favourite colour but when you are buying used, you have to take what`s available.

The Spring melt should start later this week (I know I have said this before but this time I am sure it is about to happen!) I am going to document the melting snow banks each day to see how fast (or slowly) they go. Here`s today`s shot.

No grass to be seen yet. Stay tuned for the next installment!

    1. Didn`t take a photo today as it snowed all day which just added to the pile!

  2. Great car - good camouflage in the snow! We are thinking we will need to change our car in the next few years, hoping the electric ones will come down in price a bit by then.

  4. Lovely car!! We will probably be looking for one last car/SUV and hopefully it will be a hybrid as well.

    God bless.

    1. They are certainly the way to go. This one plugs into a regular wall socket.

  8. Well I can see they keep making the Prius sportier and sportier in its looks. My SIL has owned several over the years and swears by them as well. I did not know they are now plug in electric too, and not just hybrid. I hope it serves you well - you will definitely look good driving it.

    1. There are more coming on the market now. I didn`t have as big a choice when I bought the first one in 2008.

  10. Love your new car, quite sporty. We have very little snow left, only small piles on the side of the road where the plows dumped it.

  11. Impressive! Now I wouldn't mind driving a car like that! I think you are very wise to go for a hybrid in fact we are thinking along the same lines too. Our little Suzuki Ignis still responds well although it is over 16 years old. It has been a super good car but we are thinking that it isn't going to last much longer...sigh! :-). Enjoy! Amanda x

    1. Cars seem to last longer nowadays. The big problem here is the salt used on the roads in the winter months. I had to have my previous car rust proofed each year.
