    1. It's just wishing you a prosperous year ahead. A lum is a chimney and as long as your fireplace is well lit, you are in good shape!

  5. All good wishes to you too, health happiness and a better year is all we ask. As for the lum, its so mild here in Yorkshire we don't need the heating on.
