Before anyone checks, I realize I left off a zero when announcing the Covid numbers yesterday. Today's newspaper reported the 7-day average of new cases in Ontario as 14,435. Hospitalizations were 1290 and the ICU number was 266. Seemingly we are all going to be infected with Omicron eventually, whether vaccinated or not, as it's so infectious. The only difference will be the severity of the infection. So, get your shots, folks!
I am still trying to book in my 3rd shot. It's chaos here.
ReplyDeleteGood luck in getting your booster. There are lineups here for jabs and for home testing kits.
DeleteDouble-vaxxed and boosted here. I really do think it is at the point where it is just going to have to run through the population and become endemic like the flu. And older folks will need to take the same precautions they do for the flu. And yes, I got my flu shot too.
ReplyDeleteYes, I've heard that too. All we can do is keep ourselves as protected as possible.
ReplyDeleteVaccines are crucial, definitely. Covid will end up like flu, I think. There all the time but most people will be fine.

That's the best approach, to be philosophical about getting it and keep as protected as possible.
DeleteNow that schools are back, I'm fully expecting to get it within the next few weeks. X
ReplyDeleteOur schools are closed until probably the end of the month as the hospitals are about to be overwhelmed.
DeleteThat does seem like dire news doesn't it ... thank goodness for science & medical knowledge & having the vaccines available. Maybe COVID annual boosters will be the future along with our annual flu jabs.
ReplyDeleteSounds like that will be the case. Here's hoping another virus doesn't come along in the meantime!
DeleteThat variant is picking up here in Saskatchewan as well. I am so glad that I am vaccinated and boosted as they say it means a lighter infection. Our schools are open for in person learning and I have a feeling that by the end of next week things are going to be very bad here.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
Yes, it doesn't seem to be waning, it's just so infectious.
