It's been almost a week since my last shopping trip so I am using up leftovers, slightly "past their best" vegetables, and items from the freezer. It feels good to see stuff used up and I am saving a bunch of money! Also I have hardly bought any gas for the car since the pandemic took hold.
Speaking of which, we haven't reached our peak yet - still seeing more cases and deaths each day - so we have been warned that a return to normal is still some way off. The worst cases are in the long-term care homes - it is quite tragic how many have been affected and more each day. So glad I am isolated from all that danger. I will definitely wear a mask when I go shopping later this week and go early in the "senior's hour".
Another puzzle completed! |
Isn't this weather tiresome? Went for a little walk after supper with a neck wrap and gloves, and my winter coat. Lovely puzzle! -Jenn

ReplyDeleteWe have been having a lovely spring this year. Our garden is such a haven in these times. Isn’t it strange how the pandemic is bringing out so much good in some people and so much bad in others.(referring to the previous comment). Unhinged!
ReplyDeleteI get out there as often as I can but haven't figured out how I am going to get the plants I need for the veg garden. Garden Centres all closed.
DeleteI feel sorry for them - they have big problems.
ReplyDeleteIt was cold here last week but this week it's warming up and the sunshine is gorgeous. Hopefully you will get it soon.

Supposed to get up into double digits on the weekend.
DeleteWe have been having unseasonably warm weather here - topsy turvey world!
ReplyDeleteOur virus case numbers had started to flatten out, probably due to the fact that our borders have been closed and social distancing is working reasonably well, but this week it was announced that a private care home on the island had been taken over by the Health Department due to a high number of infections. Now we hear that 6 or 7 residents have just died as a result of contracting it. So very sad for them and their families.
Hope it doesn't get worse where you are, JayCee. It's not slowing down here.
DeleteMother Earth is still feeling a little miserable isn't she?! I am sure many will be surprised how little they have spent for the months we are in lock down. I hope that the lessons of not shopping remain with us afterwards. Congrats on another puzzle done.
ReplyDeleteI think we will go right back to how it was before the lockdown. My first stop will be for a haircut!
