My neighbour coughed up for her portion of the repair to our communal fence after complaints about the guys I had hired to do it. Of course she had the option to find someone else but never did, so it was up to me. So money in the bank and I am solvent again!
Still waiting for the electrician to install a new outlet for the stove but he has agreed to come on Wednesday. Things are getting done. One minor annoyance - the car dealership is not providing taxiing service because of Covid so I will have to bus it home after dropping off my car tomorrow. I'm hoping daughter will be able to drop me off on her way home from work to pick it up. It should be ready by then. Best laid plans and all that!
Woohoo, glad your neighbour is pitching in on the fence repair finally.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
She's still not happy - says it's not upright but sent her son over with the cash.
DeleteThank goodness for that - she should've had a bit more input, shouldn't she?

She's a bit reclusive, and English isn't her first language. I have some sympathy for that.
DeleteThings are moving in the right direction for you - yeah! I agree good, tall, fences make for better neighbour relationships. I've read it's going to be a rainy week so it will test out your repaired basement wall(s). :)
ReplyDeleteGlad your neighbor came around to doing the right thing. Good luck with car service appointment, I truly hate those - dreading they will find something wrong and wondering if it is truly wrong or if they are drumming up business.
ReplyDeleteWell, they did find a couple of things but not exorbitant. The car is 14 years old! Worst part was sitting there for three hours as they aren't doing a shuttle at the moment.
DeleteGlad your neighbour came up with some money for the fence, they are not cheap.
ReplyDeleteEspecially when he was just replacing the fence posts and putting it back together.
DeleteGood news for you - hope it continues with the stove.
