Loads of snow so it was a day of digging out. Luckily I had nowhere I needed to be so just took it easy and had lots of breaks. Unfortunately, my little snowblower was just not up to the task as the snow was very wet and heavy. Daughter came over in the afternoon and finished it off.
The snowplough came around noon so the roads are clear. It was followed by another machine that partially cleared the windrow across the end of my driveway. However, still lots of back-breaking shovelling!

Trying to reach the back yard to open the garage and get out the snowblower. |

My first task was to clear a path to the front door. |

It was hot work. Judy had her jacket off. |
What happens to those who are unable to clear their own property?
ReplyDeleteYou can hire someone to do it for you. Property owners are expected to be able to afford to do that. If you are renting, your landlord is responsible for clearing your entryway. The city clears the roads and sidewalks.
DeleteOh, my! That looks beautiful but what a lot of hard work.
ReplyDeleteInteresting that you have to clear your property. We have no such law in the UK but, to be fair, we don't usually get much snow either.
xx
We don't have to clear it - only if you want to get your car out on to the road!
DeleteHello! New here...and it looks Cold where you are!
ReplyDeleteBe careful clearing all that snow!

It wasn't actually very cold which is why the snow was so wet and heavy. I'd much rather have the light, fluffy stuff that is easier to move. The sun had some real warmth to it.
DeleteThat is a lot of snow. Glad we haven't had that much in awhile here.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
That was certainly a wild storm Friday/Saturday. Hearing thunder & seeing lightening in the snow was amazing & baffling. How kind that daughter helped you. Took us all Saturday (lots of breaks) to clear the heavy wet snow off the driveway; snowblower wasn't much help. The sunshine Saturday afternoon was wonderful.
ReplyDeleteMy snowblower wasn't up to the job either! Now that my son is out west, Judy has had to step into the breach. She was sweating by the time it was done!
ReplyDeleteIn Scotland I hated the snow but loved shovelling it from our drive and paths. I’d clean our balcony at the penthouse but throwing snow over from the third floor isn’t really an option so I’m leaving it pristine.
