Sunny and mild today so I was out of my winter coat and into a lighter jacket and no gloves or hat! That's a first for this year. Book Club this afternoon and we had an interesting discussion of Carol Off's book "All We Left Behind". It is a factual account of her frustrating attempt to get an Afghan family admitted to Canada as refugees. Not a great reflection of the Canadian Refugee Acceptance System.
Here's what I found in my back yard today. The end (of Winter) is in sight!
Yes, something (probably daffodils) has sprouted! |
…...but at the other end of the yard, still Winter. |
Such fluctuating weather - it is the same over here - can't make up its mind if it wants to remain in winter or switch over to spring!
ReplyDeleteWe have been promised double digit temperatures this weekend - then back below freezing!
DeleteStill winter but rapidly receding by the looks of things. It's lovely when those Spring flowers start emerging, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry about the headache - hoping it continues to go away and not come back.
xx
Feeling a lot better today - managed to play Pickleball.
DeleteHope the headache passes soon and those daffodils open up.
ReplyDeleteIt will be a while until we have flowers but hope springs eternal!
DeleteIt often feels like all seasons in one day here at the moment, but I'm sure winter hasn't finished with us just yet. The road gritter has been out again this afternoon.
ReplyDeleteI hope you feel better soon. X
Almost back to normal.
ReplyDeleteHope you’re back to feeling tip top now, Chris. The weather here today has alternated between sun and heavy showers. I don’t know when the garden will have a chance to dry out! I saw in an earlier comment you mentioned Pickleball. What is that? I’ve never heard of it?
ReplyDeleteIt's a racquet sport that's becoming very popular here, especially with retirees. You can probably find a You Tube video of it. Here it's played indoors and is a blend of tennis and badminton, played with a paddle similar to a table tennis paddle.
