Easing Into Fall

A lovely morning at the tennis courts, clear sky, mild temperatures, not much of a breeze and super friends. I was on the winning side for both sets for a change (on Tuesday I was the big loser) thanks mostly to my stalwart partners, so went home happy. We are still starting at 8:00 but that will have to change soon as the sun is rising later and is lower in the sky, making it difficult to see the ball for the first hour.

Senior's Day at the drug store so I walked down and picked up the mail and a couple of items. Always nice to get a 10% reduction although that barely amounts to the tax! Since then just gardening and reading outside, an easy day. The pool is still open but too chilly for a swim.

  1. I know what you mean about the sky lightening later in the morning, I notice more how the sun disappears earlier in the evening. Here it is 7 pm in Saskatchewan and the sun is very low on the horizon.

Glad you won your games today.

    God bless.

    1. It's always a toss-up who comes out on top - something to do with who had the best night's sleep or had a proper warm up. At least it makes our games interesting!

  2. Autumn is knocking on the door here too. The leaves are starting to change, the summer vegetables are fading out and the days are getting noticeably shorter.

    1. Haven't seen too many leaves changing colour here yet, still quite summery. But I am gradually clearing out the vegetable plot. The first to go is the mint which, as usual, has tried to take over.

  3. I want to ease slowly into the next season but it seems Mother Nature is taking things her own way. It seems to be darker in the morning longer, & earlier sunsets. Congratulations on being on the winning team. I watched our tennis club members for a bit the other day while waiting at the library for my pick up. I saw lots of fuzzy jackets on, another sign Mother Nature is taking charge of the weather.

  4. Definitely no fuzzy jackets here, we are still in t-shirts and shorts. Today I was tempted to have a dip in the pool but it was just a bit too chilly even for me.

  5. Definitely an autumnal feeling here in Yorkshire but lovely and sunny too. I am hoping for a bit more heat once we get back to Italy though I have loved the cool here after a scorching Italian August.

  6. Once you get back to Italy the nights should be cooler. I managed a swim today, so refreshing after cleaning the pool and working in the garden.
