A day and a half of almost constant rain so I have been mopping puddles in my basement again. However, I have had someone come and look into the problem and they will be back to fix it relatively soon. In the mean time I am hoping for no more heavy rainfall as I am extremely tired of the constant mopping!
I went back to have my ear checked this week ( I think I wrote about it earlier) - it was a basal cell carcinoma and, unfortunately, they didn't get the whole thing on the first visit so there was some more cutting and scraping, thankfully all under anesthetic. It wasn't as bad as the first time and should be all healed in a couple of weeks, fingers crossed.
I was getting tired of the fish dishes I have been producing recently so tried something new the other night - curried fish with braised kale. It was quite good. It had shredded coconut in it which was an interesting addition.
I have never thought of making curried fish, but it sounds interesting and looks fantastic.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
I will definitely make it again. It wasn't very strongly curried, just some curry powder and some garam masala.
DeleteI'm glad the medical procedure went well for you.

Thanks, Joy. I hate getting poked and prodded so I very rarely visit the doctor. I probably left it a bit too long to have this seen to.
DeleteHope your ear heals quickly and fingers crossed they have it all this time.x
ReplyDeleteIt's feeling much better already and not looking too ghastly!
DeleteI hope your ear heals swiftly. X
ReplyDeleteMe too, but I have lost a little cartilage on the side. I will have to grow my hair a bit longer!
DeleteFingers crossed & a prayer that this surgery got all the ear growth & it's now a done deal. It's nice to have a change up to your meals isn't it. I found in last week's meal plan I didn't get enough "crunch" in my meals, so this week lots of things that crunch (col). Let's hope your basement repair is done soon ... forecast for heavy rains again on the weekend :(
ReplyDeleteThanks for your wishes and prayers, Mary Lou. I have towels at the ready if we have another deluge!
ReplyDeleteHope you have had your basement flooding sorted. There have been flood warnings here not surprising after the months of drought and heat. Last year it came in through the balcony and we were mopping up at 3.00am in the morning. That was a fierce storm. Glad to hear the ear treatment went well and you are on the mend. Take care. Amanda x
ReplyDeleteStill waiting to get the leak sorted but we have not had any heavy rain since the last storm. I get my stitches out next Tuesday and hopefully that will be it!
DeleteLeaky houses, don’t you just love them. Back in the UK water was coming into a neighbours apartment, when it rains here in Italy the water will get through our terrace into the room below. Luckily we haven’t had any rain - yet. Nice dinner, I could eat them now.
ReplyDeleteI'm still waiting for the repairs to be done but no rain yet.
DeleteI'm glad your ear procedure went well, hope it heals quickly. When rain gets in it makes life challenging! We've had lots of it here this past week but so far none has got in! :-)
ReplyDeleteLuckily it's been quite dry here. Now I have a leaky tap but it is to be repaired on Tuesday. There's always something!
