First Asparagus of the Season

    Asparagus has been in the stores for a couple of weeks but the spikes were rather spindly. Today's were much more appetizing so I bought a bunch. This will do me several meals in prepared in different ways. Today it was steamed for 5 minutes and then finished cooking in butter. A generous squeeze of lemon completed it.

  2. I bought my first asparagus this week too but was disappointed as it was a bit tasteless - but I'm spoiled as I used to grow my own where I used to live

  3. Oh fresh Ontario asparagus is such a treat. I saw on the online grocery order that there are fiddleheads on offer - another spring delight.
