The Bard

We had a big dump of wet snow the other day and I am still trying to remove it all from the driveway. There was only one day when I was restricted to home so it wasn't too disruptive.

Luckily this all happened after the Burns' Night supper at my Scottish country dance class. We had a great turnout and, after some dances, one of our class members performed the "Address to the Haggis". Then we consumed the beast along with lots of other goodies - a very successful evening!

  1. Is there a strong Scots community where you live?

    1. Canada has always been a favourite destination for Scots immigrants, same as Australia.

  2. When we visited Scotland many years ago I got to taste Haggis. I loved it, where as my husband and many others on the tour didn't like it or try it at all.

    God bless.

    1. You have to have it with 'neeps and tatties. It's still mild here, but can see what's coming!

  5. I thought of you on Burn's night & whether you were able to get out to your group for celebrating. Sounds like a fun night. I think we have spent every day this last week shoveling or using the snow blower to clear the driveway. I think the snow blower has been on my gratitude listing 3 times this week (col).

  6. My small snowblower wasn't really up to the job and I ended up having to shovel most of the snow.

  7. I haven't participated in Scottish Country Dancing for many years now. It is exhausting but a lot of fun. I'm glad you still got to enjoy your evening. X

  8. Glad the snow dump wasn't too much trouble. I only caught a few words of what he said, mostly at the end of the lines when they rhymed!
