Trying Something New

Weather continues brilliant (or awful depending on your preference) with it still in the 30's. We are promised cooler nights next week which will help somewhat. We did have some heavy rain yesterday and it did go somewhat towards eradicating the drought. Another storm, please, that would really help! At least I haven't had to cut the grass much recently as it has basically gone dormant.

I haven't done much gardening this month as it is just so hot out there, but have been keeping myself busy with reading and a jigsaw puzzle. Today I made sausage rolls with plant-based sausages. They look like the real thing but how will they taste? I will have a couple for dinner tonight.

  1. They look yummy. One of these days I may give something like this a try. Do they freeze well?

    God bless.

  2. Yes, I have frozen them. They just tasted like regular sausage rolls.

  3. This was the first summer I really suffered with the heat in Italy, as did many friends. At times I felt too hot to think so its nice to be back in the cool UK for a while and we are told its much fresher in Lazio now.

    1. The humidity is what makes it unbearable. I can tolerate dry heat much better.

  5. Oh yes your sausage rolls look SO yummy. I was most grateful for the rain last night but oh yes we need several hours of rain to revive the lawns. I read the humidity leaves about 10pm tonight & won't return for the week - YEAH.

  6. Something I haven't seen or eaten for quite some time. I just love sausage rolls! Impossible to make here as the sausage meat is made totally different in Alicante: much more spicy. They are never the same. Sometimes I buy some from the British supermarket but they are frozen and really they aren't very nice. They aren't like the ones my Mum used to bake...sigh! All the same I shall look around for plant based sausages to try them out. keep well Amanda x
