This And That

Not much to write about but thought I had better get a new post done before everyone thinks I have died!

Still not much progress on the vaccinations here - less than 1% of the provincial population with their two doses. The weather has been sunny but cold but I have managed a walk most days. Yesterday I made a loaf in the bread machine and today some raspberry oatmeal bars. Reading lots and working on jigsaw puzzles fills my days.

Something trying to get into my attic woke me last night and led to a disturbed night, just hope it hasn't set up home there and I get a proper night's sleep tonight. Stay tuned for a further update!

  1. Oh let's hope it isn't squirrels or raccoons trying to find a home to raise babies!! The sunshine days have been wonderful. Oh making bread is such a good idea, I think I'll put beer bread on the menu for the weekend.

  2. It sounded big so I'm thinking a raccoon. I don't think it got in.

  3. I hope nothing has taken up residence in you attic.

I don't think we have reached even 1% of the population in this province. Hope things pick up soon.

    God bless.

  4. Thank goodness we don't have raccoons here, mice in our loft are bad enough!
Our vaccination progress is slow as we are only allocated a small percentage each week from the UK's stock. It is currently the over 75s here being invited for vaccination at the moment. I think about 10% of our total population have had their first jab now.
    Stay warm and safe!

    1. Ours should pick up soon as they have completed all Long Term Care facilities and most of the frontline health care workers.

  5. Hardly anyone here has had two doses but the first vaccine is being admin9istered pretty pronto. I'm expecting to hear soon (I'm in the 65 to 70 range)

    1. Sounds like the first dose does offer a good degree of protection, from what I have read.

  6. Isn't it frustrating, with the lack of vaccines? They haven't even done all the nursing homes yet. I truly hope it wasn't a raccoon. They can be tricky to get rid of. -Jenn

    1. I've had them before (not in this house) and it can be expensive to get rid of them.

  7. Ha! Ha! and I shouldn't laugh really but that is the way of things at present. One of My neighbours said to me the other day that she hadn't seen me in a long time and that she thought I was...and then she hesitated with what she was going to say and quickly shoved in the word "away". Pretty obvious she was thinking I had "kicked the bucket" ha! ha! Do hope your intruder has left the way he came in and also does not come back! I haven't worked out yet where you are. Australia by any chance? keep well Amanda x

  8. I'm glad we don't have anything as big as Racoons here. Mice can sound as if they have hob nailed boots when they get in the house so Racoons must be very loud!

    1. I didn't hear anything last night so hopefully it was a "one-off" and they won't be back. They do like to find a cozy spot when the weather is cold.

  9. Can you have your home checked out? To be sure, there are no possible entry points. We had to have that done, last fall. And it was worth it.

Baking in this cold weather, sounds Right! I want to make an Apple Crisp today. -smile-
