Dull and dreary here but the snow is gradually receding and some rather dead grass appearing along the edges of the lawn. I was quite chilled when I got home from my walk and spent the afternoon snoozing in bed. Hope I'm not coming down with something!
It has been rather amazing not to have had a cough or cold all winter - probably due to wearing a mask on all outings. I guess we don't realize just how much infection we pick up from other people! Also washing hands well is a very good habit to continue once the pandemic is over.
I got an interesting DVD from the library yesterday, "Detective Montalbano", and watched an episode last night. It is a mixture of drama, humour and relationships but, as it is subtitled, requires more concentration on the viewer's part. I will watch another episode tonight, I highly recommend it, but one is enough at a time.
I love Inspector Montalbano both the young and old versions - they take some concentration though two hours of subtitles.
ReplyDeleteI have ordered the next episodes. Yes, they talk so fast, it's hard to keep up with the captions!
DeleteI just read that we basically didn't have a flu season this year! The social distancing, masks, and sanitizer evidently really damped down the flu!
ReplyDeleteI wonder if this trend will carry on into next 'flu season!
DeleteMy friend is a pharmacist. She told me that there was essentially no flu, and she filled a very tiny fraction of the antibiotics prescriptions for things like strep or ear infections that she normally fills every winter. -Jenn
ReplyDeleteI guess it was to be expected with nearly everyone being extra careful.
DeleteHow lovely that the snow is starting to vanish. I hope you feel a lot better today. xx
ReplyDeleteYes, I managed my fitness workout this morning. Still tired though, not sleeping well.
DeleteSunshine makes such a difference and I've really felt the benefit of it these last few days.
ReplyDeleteI hope you're feeling better after a rest. X
I took it easy today, so, on the mend.
DeleteGlad to read the snow is receding. Hopefully you will feel better after your rest, take care.
ReplyDeleteIt's turned colder again today but no more snow so far!
DeleteI, too, hope you feel better soon.
ReplyDeleteWe have always enjoyed watching Montalbano, right from the very first series. The subtitle issue is just normal for me, being hard of hearing!
I usually use the captioned version of DVD's even when they are in English.
DeleteThankfully we aren't filling up the emerg wards with other illness, so I'm wondering if after COVID is more controlled or at best, gone, will we as a society take to wearing a mask during cold & flu season as they do in many parts of Asia? Thanks for the DVD recommendation.
ReplyDeleteI think that would be smart and make sense. No need to be sick unnecessarily. I checked with the library and there are 36 episodes of "Detective Montalbano"! I'm trying to watch them in order. Each is a separate crime but there is a continuous theme running from one episode to the next.
