Groundhog Day

A very weak sun today so I don't know if the groundhog will see its shadow. I hope not as that will mean an early Spring, something we really need this year.

I got in a walk this morning although it was very chilly. I didn't go far, just around the block, and was very happy to get home. This was also my once-a-week shopping day and I decided to use a double mask as that is being advised. It was quite comfortable so I will continue with this regimen until I get a shot.

  1. The supermarket is the only place we go other than a walk - at least I am getting more jobs done at home while we are housebound!

    1. I'm afraid I have let household chores slide since no one is visiting me. I have been reading a lot.

  2. I have always it seems avoided lots of people due to picking up chest infections. So no to shops. I also am waiting for that shot.

    1. I'm surprised you haven't got one yet, Jill. My friend's sister and BIL got theirs last week and they are only in their 60's. They live in England.

  3. I haven't started double masking as of yet, but I think I will start by putting a filter in the pocket of the masks I made specifically for this purpose. I also need to make a few more masks as our sons took off with a few of Harvey's.

The groundhog would have seen his shadow here as it was bright and sunny.

    God bless.

  4. I hope you will get your vaccination very soon. I've never heard of double masking, although I know many masks here have an extra pocket for a filter. X

    1. They haven't finished vaccinating the LTC residents and essential workers here yet so it will be some time until I am eligible. I'm in the 75-80 cohort.

  5. Thankfully Willie did not see his shadow, although rumours are about that the Major of Wiarton used his fur hat rather than Willie to predict. Yes double masking is wise with the variants about. We use the disposable blues inside our fabric masks until we get our order of the washable, reusable filters. I've also heard basket coffee filters doubled can work in a pinch.

    1. It's all because of the new variants that are much more infectious.

  7. Hopefully we will be out of lockdown within a week and we'll be able to go out of the city. Sr P sees to the shopping and I see to the meals. I go for an hours walk every morning if I can except Saturday morning when I give an online class. As for the housework it gets done but I skip it sometimes. It gets to be a monotonous routine so I like to break the habit now and again. We haven't had out jabs yet either they are still giving them to the hospital staff and other ranks as well as the people 80 and over. keep well Amanda :-)

    1. Good for you with the hour long walk. I can only manage about 30-40 minutes. What is the topic of your online class?
