Things Are Moving Along

My son (and two cats) have been staying with me since September and it has been lovely having their company. However, that is about to come to an end this week as their new home in Victoria B.C. is finally "cat-proofed". DIL went in October to oversee the renovations and it was not supposed to be such a long process! Their horse and dog travelled there in November, one by road and the other by air. Can you guess which went which way?

Their furniture, which has been stored in my garage since their house was sold, was loaded in a giant van this morning and should arrive in Victoria some time next week. Ditto their car, which is going by train. Steve and the cats fly out on Friday, fingers crossed! We have new, more stringent lockdown rules in place but, hopefully, they won't prevent him form leaving. Stay tuned!

All this has been horribly expensive but living in Victoria will make up for all the cost, hassle and inconvenience, I'm sure. I am already planning to visit some time soon!

  1. Hopefully you can get out for a visit very soon.

My province has the worst Covid-19 per population in Canada right now. Our restrictions have been put in place for at least another 2 weeks.

    God bless.

    1. I definitely hope to go once they are well settled in but it probably won't be this year. We are under restrictions until Feb. 10 but people are expecting it will be extended. Hope you are staying safe, Jackie.

  2. That's a lot of animal shipment! I hope he is able to get where he wants to go - I've just been reading the restriction details. Will it be nice to have an empty garage again? -Jenn

    1. Once he leaves here, he should be OK. They have to change planes in Vancouver. I can finally get at my snow blower. Luckily we haven't needed it yet this year.

  3. Hoping all goes well and there are no hiccups along the way, either viral or man made. Is Victoria pleasant?

    1. Victoria has a much more temperate climate than Ontario, more like the UK. They will love being there!

  5. It will all be worth it I am sure.
We visited Victoria B.C. back in the early 1990s and thought that it was a beautiful place. I wish we could revisit some time but that will probably not happen now.
    Take care x

    1. You never know but it's certainly not likely in the near future. They are really looking forward to their new life out on the west coast.

  7. It has been so nice for you to have the company, especially over Christmas. I do hope that kitties do well on their flights, I worry for them. Fingers, prayers all done for no delays at either end. Happy weekend.

  8. I am also worried but I got a text that they are checked in and Steve has boarded the plane, so it's all go, now! Thanks for your blessings.
