Another Weekend Survived!

Haven't been outdoors today except for a trip to the composter in the back yard.  Yesterday I walked up to the library and it was sunny but quite cold. The return trip wasn't too bad as I was walking into the sun with my back to the icy wind. It takes me around an hour depending on how long I am in the Mall.

I picked up some DVD's at the library and have a good book on the go - Philippa Gregory's "Dark Tides" - so, with my current jigsaw puzzle, I am keeping busy. We aren't able to go inside the library but can drop off and pick up items we have ordered. Also, there is usually something decent to watch on TV on a Sunday evening. Thank goodness for that!

Tomorrow is Rabbie Burns' Night and we would normally have a party at my dance group, complete with "piping in the haggis" but that won't be happening this year. Judy is having her own celebration (with haggis and other goodies) at home with her family tomorrow and has promised to drop off some for me too. Something to look forward to.

Not quite finished but getting there! I am trying to stretch it out.

  2. Life has generally shrunk considerably over the past year but there's still lovely things to do. Good for you!

    1. We had a lovely sunny day today so I had a (fairly) long walk.

  3. We haven't been able to get hold of a haggis this year. Shame as I look forward to it as a special treat.

    1. Judy brought some but no "tatties and neeps". I will make my own. She also brought a Scotch egg, yummy!

  4. You are certainly quick with working out a puzzle. I saw a news piece about someone's haggis on a weather balloon. I saw online the Robbie Burns day celebrations from Highclere Castle (Downton Abbey) from previous years - it was quite impressive.

  5. Putting puzzles together is a great way to spend these long, isolated days but so help me, I can NOT stand putting puzzles together for the life of me. Don't know why... my sister does them all the time. She's 9 years older than me... will be 95 in about 2 weeks. At least it's keeping her occupied. hehe.

  6. I am reading through the alphabet and I just finished D. I might have to make an exception and read two D books.

    God bless.

    1. Are you going by title or author? I tend to get into a particular author and keep requesting their books.
