A Culinary Masterpiece

I made a lasagna today and it looks sooo good I can't wait to tuck in. It's rather labour intensive but will feed me 6 meals, one today, another on Sunday and four for the freezer. Today I will have it with a salad as I have romaine lettuce to use up. Have you noticed how long romaine lettuce stays crisp in the fridge? I'm sure it is at least three weeks since I bought this one, just taking off a few leaves at a time.

It was a cloudy wet day to start off with, just the perfect time to stay indoors and work in the kitchen. Now it is full sun which bodes well for tomorrow.

  4. Strangely in our part of Italy we are hardly ever offered lasagna in homes or restaurants (in the days pre covid). An Italian friend once told me baked pasta is dead pasta. i didn’t tell him it’s my favourite way to eat it and the warmed up left overs are even better.

    1. I agree - it's all the cheese that makes it so delicious!

  5. I like the idea cook once, eat twice or more & your lasagna looks very tasty indeed. I was hopeful for more rain, we only got a light sprinkling. It is so dry & our local farmers are "begging" for rain. Happy Weekend.

    1. Yes, the gardens really need it and I am sure the crops as well. Supposed to rain tonight.

  6. That lasagne looks delicious and will go wonderfully with the salad. Even better to make some for the freezer.

    1. I like garlic bread with it too but two carbs at one meal is not a good idea!
