Second Shot

So glad to get my second shot yesterday, now just have to wait two weeks to be fully protected. It was easy and fast. Most of the family are coming up for their second shot too, except for one grandson who is needle-phobic. He will have to get both doses before school starts back in September so that is a worry. He really wants to be vaccinated but gets a terrible panic attack when confronted with the needle.

Today is cooler so I got lots of gardening and other chores done. I went to a local village market but didn't buy much as it was all over priced and I wasn't entirely sure things were local! I don't think I will be going back.

  1. Good news on the vaccinations. My second one was two weeks ago so I suppose I am as protected as I can be by now.
I used to have that same aversion to needles as your grandson. As a child I used to get quite hysterical when it came to injections and had to be held down in the chair. I grew out of that eventually!

    1. Unfortunately he is 6' 2 and 200 lbs. so no way his mum can hold him down! I just pray he will grow out of it soon.

    1. We still have a ways to go for "herd immunity" but that should happen by the end of the summer.

    1. It certainly is although in today's newspaper there was an article about fully vaccinated seniors in an LTC getting the Delta variant. They just had symptoms and a mild infection, though.

  5. Yeah to your 2nd shot of COVID vaccine. Didn't you feel such a sense of relief after getting? And yes that outbreak at the seniors residence in Burlington is worriesome. As for your Grandson, I feel for him. I let the doctors giving me my injection (both times) that I am not good with needles, I do get panic attacks, even watching on TV people getting their vaccines ... & both times the doctors thanked me for letting them know & were very kind, comforting & quick with the needle. I did not feel the needle either time.

    1. He knows all that and is very disappointed in himself for not being able to "man up". It is very hard for him and his parents.

  6. Such a relief to get the vaccinations done, for us they were painless and problem free. I hope your grandson can get help with his phobia and be vaccinated, it must be very stressful for him at present.
