An Easy Day

I made a jar of pickled red onions this afternoon and that has been the total sum of my domestic endeavours. I have been working on my tax return and thought I would be able to finish it today. However, I found an error on my practice form and had to redo the whole thing. So, it will be another day of trudging through it. Only positive is that I believe I might get some money back from the government for once!

There were a few snowflakes this afternoon but, on the whole, the weather has been improving. Son and DIL were staying for a few days (they are moving back to Ontario from B.C. next month) and they helped me bring up my garden furniture from the basement. So I am ready for when the nice weather finally arrives. Can't wait!

  1. I managed to get money back, enough to pay for what Harvey owes and the cost of getting them done by the accountants. Keeping my fingers crossed that you get some back as well.

    God bless.

    1. It would be a first since I retired if I do. As you say, fingers crossed. I got it in the mail today.

  2. I am so pleased we have the PAYE (pay as you go) tax system over here. Everyone is given a tax code generated by your income, less an individual personal allowance, and then the tax is taken off as you earn by your employer and the remainder is yours. This means you don't have to fill in a form or save the money to repay the tax.
We do have assessment forms for any time you might have other additional income coming in, or if you are self- employed.
I hope you get some money refunded.

    1. That sounds like a good system. It's one job I hate to have to do each year.
